Hello, and welcome to Art at Fort River! The Art Room is a vibrant and ever-changing space where art is treated as a form of play, empowering students to communicate collaboratively across grade levels, classrooms, and programs. Large-scale, collaborative art projects connect the school through murals, posters, displays, and special events. Many exciting reward systems, like the Wall of Fame, Marble Jar, and stamp sheets, help students stay aware of their actions and make responsible choices that benefit everyone. Students take perspective frequently, and practice caring for materials so that everyone has a chance to learn, play, and communicate in our shared space. The Art Room also hosts several clubs each week, including Gaming Club, two Pokémon leagues, and the Art Room Rescue team.
At Fort River, the Art Room is for everyone. I am so honored and excited to receive consistent feedback from students, families, teachers, and community members that students feel safe to explore their creativity in this space.
